Panajachel Colegio Internacional is a U.S. curriculum college preparatory school for grades 7-12, located in Panajachel, Guatemala. Our goal is to offer the best possible international education available for students of all cultural backgrounds. We believe that student attitude is the most important element in achieving that goal. Knowledge is not simply poured into student’s ears; it is gained through the diligent efforts carried out by the students, teachers and parents working together hour by hour, day by day, and year by year. Therefore, our principal requirement for all students interested in attending PCI is that they and their parents understand the commitment they are undertaking and agree to devote the time and work necessary to be successful. We believe that attitude is far more important than aptitude, and that the rewards earned through hard work are as satisfying as any other joys life has to offer.

What help exactly do they need? There is a group called that sells older, refurbished donated Windows computers for about $60.00 each, up to 20 computers per school. Life School got some computers for their computer lab from them and I brought a number of Macintosh laptops from Mac of All Trades in the states. They have provided very good used refurbished laptops:

Buy and Sell Used Macs - Refurbished Apple Desktops, Apple ...
Mac of All Trades is your source for buying and selling used Apple Mac computers
. ... You also ave the option to call 813-925-1181 8:30AM to 4:30PM Monday ... is a good source for inexpensive backpacks and school supplies, and they have a donation site for groups that want to help by purchasing supplies. The company ships from Florida or people can order things and bring them to Guatemala themselves.

I am so glad "Panajachel Colegio Internacional" is moving ahead, despite the setback from Hurricane Agatha. I will do everything I can to help them. Anything that improves community education and relations is a worthy goal. God bless their efforts, and thanks for posting this notice.
